I buy Kroger store brands on a regular basis and am usually very well satisfied. but especially for soups, stews, and such, I find these products wholesome, tasty, and just fine. Beans may be uneven cuts the corn not quite as young and tender, etc. I find the budget labels are less "fancy" than more expensive brands. Kroger's store brands appear (or have appeared) under a variety of labels - the straightforward "Kroger" label, "Private Selection" for their fancier line, "Home Sense" for paper and household goods, and brands like "Extra Value" and now "Psssst" for budget brands.
